Best type of wedding attire for 50+ year old female sponsor?

  • January 10, 2009 at 1:06 am

My cousin's wedding is in late June, and my mom (who is in her late 50's) is going to be one of her sponsors, but she has no idea what kind of formal dress she should wear, or even where to start looking. (We're still trying to contact my cousin about the color theme of her wedding.)

Any ideas, photos of formal wear, (or examples of name brands) of what might look nice would be helpful. Thanks.

www.metrostyle.com has a nice range of outfits that would look nice on younger women, and more sophisticated women.

check that out, you'll find something you might like.

First of all, your mom shouldn't worry about matching with the color theme of the wedding. Leave that to the bridesmaids. Just stay away from the obvious wedding color no-nos like white or bright colors that are eyesores. Here are some ideas of dresses for her age that would also be comfortable to wear in June when its usually warm. They are dresses from Sears which are cheaper and easy to find.
